On the one hand, the monument of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Totana is a sculpture of nine meters high, located in one of the most emblematic and privileged places in the municipality, in the heart of Regional Park Sierra Espuña and in the vicinity of Sanctuary of Santa Eulalia.

The work of sculpture was completed in 1958 by sculptor Ramon Martinez Murcia Nicolás and inside houses a chapel and its front is a relief of about two meters, the Virgin with the child in his arms, and this is the same author.

This work is a hallmark and a symbol of Totana which involves a huge sentimental value totaneros between generations.

Similarly, the Via Crucis is incorporated into the whole shrine of the patron saint of Totana, south of the shrine, and sculptural form groups which comprise a total of 33 figures of 1.70 meters.

This was done on behalf of Don Juan José Noguera, then pastor of La Santa, in the year 1965 with the aim of providing a route penitential practice of the Cross.

The stations are placed in communion with nature and integrated into the environment as part of the landscape, and was inaugurated on October 25, 1970.

They are made of artificial stone and expressionist style between 1966 and 1968 by the sculptor, Anastasio Martinez Valcárcel, "son of the previous artist who sculpted the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Martínez Andreo, taking into account the socio-political turmoil that has been built around the Sacred Heart of Monteagudo, works much like the totanera, explained that one of the objectives of the City Council is to preserve the heritage and feeling toward that figure represents much to the municipality.

In this sense, the city councilman said he hoped that this proposal be approved unanimously by all political groups in Parliament on Thursday.
