Already held its first informal meeting of European Ministers of Labour, under the Spanish presidency of the European Union, which discussed the proposals "to keep and create jobs in the short to medium term, to be incorporated in the Strategy 2020, no loss of wages or labor and social rights.
The realization of these measures will be addressed in the Council of Ministers of next March in Brussels.
According to the Socialists, the Spanish Presidency's aim is to promote a more collaborative effort of member countries to address the employment challenges in the new international economic scenario in which we have placed all of the economic crisis, a scenario in which Europe needs to become more competitive, if you want to be measured with other major economies like China, U.S. and emerging countries.
The challenge we face, according to the PSOE de Totana, is to combat unemployment by creating more jobs, putting the value added to benefit in the short term and think in terms of economic and labor, in short, how to re-create jobs and competitiveness that the EU needs to continue to grow economically and support the European welfare state, without impairing the quality of our employment and labor rights.
The main proposals of the Spanish Presidency is "to improve the training of workers" and "anticipate market needs", so the Socialists believe that Europe should have more and better qualified workers and propose to allocate equipment and efforts to identify new employment opportunities and labor market activity.
In conclusion, from the PSOE considerable commitments to strengthening the European social model and the systems and measures of social protection and inclusion to make Europe more competitive in value added, innovation and social cohesion.
