Totana City Council has initiated the administrative procedures for the implementation of the Special Municipal Employment Center for workers with disabilities.
This initiative, agreed by the full City Council at its regular meeting last January, with votes for the PP and the PSOE and IU abstention + Greens, claims that the center of the possibility of achieving full integration employment of persons with disabilities.
For the launch of this center, as explained by Mayor Totana, José Martínez Andreo, has reached an agreement with the Association of Physically Handicapped Totana (MIFITO), which "was endorsed unanimously by the Assembly of this association, on 31 December, and through which the Special Employment Centre Mifito, which until now was managed by the association, will be municipally owned. "
With this agreement, both parties intended to guarantee and consolidate the existing jobs at the Centre, which currently has 47, and whose trade volume depend almost 95 percent of the services provided by the City Council of Totana.
Through the decision by the full City Council, have taken steps to check the Local Government Act for the City to acquire immediately the center so far managed MIFITO.
In this regard, the municipal councilor noted that with the implementation of this measure, which is part of the Second Economic and Financial Plan of the Session, "will be reduced by almost 50 percent of the cost had the City each year to provide services which until now had agreements with MIFITO. "
Similarly, Martínez Andreo has indicated that upon completion of administrative procedures, this initiative will be plenary and submitted to the will of the municipal enterprise.
