The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, held a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Peñas Carnival of the locality to discuss issues related to the upcoming Carnival Parade, to urge the establishment of the Federation of Peñas de Carnaval, will boost the local carnival and festive rocks participation in cultural activities and festivities that take place throughout the year in the municipality.
At this meeting, which is part of the round of contacts that will keep City Councilman with various groups and associations of the town, the mayor made a commitment to fund the grant last year before the celebration of this event and as to continue the aid to pay for public address equipment used by all the rocks in it.
Similarly, said that through the constitution of the Federation may grant the importance it deserves the local carnival, and seek other funding to improve the organization of this event.
Totana Mayor said all the information on this initiative so that the rocks are adapted to the new rules, since there was a general interest to create such a federation.
He indicated that, henceforth, be held more meetings with the clubs involved in the implementation of this initiative.
In this sense, the mayor noted that this event, along with Holy Week, organized by the Illustrious Cabildo Processions Superior is the one that brings together associations and groups, and encourages more participation.
Also during the meeting made an assessment of the parade of the previous edition and considered the possibility that next year the party be extended throughout the weekend to include other activities and give more participation.
This year the carnival of adults will take place on February 13 and the child the day before as usual.
