The bad weather has prevented the image of Santa Eulalia de Mérida return to his hermitage, as has become tradition for years at a January 7 in the town of Totana.
At eight o'clock in the morning was officiated Mass in the parish of Santiago, sung by the choirs of the two parishes of the town, and has attended by the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, accompanied by the Deputy Inspector of Local police, Emilio Argüeso, members of the Foundation's Santa and many residents who wished to be present during the celebration of the Eucharist with the presence of Santa Eulalia, for two days in the town.
At its end has been communicated to the people gathered there that the traditional festival of Santa Eulalia increase would not be held due to rain and weather forecasts and it was postponed to this Saturday.
According to informed sources the board of the Foundation La Santa, this decision was made after request information from the meteorological center of Guadalupe, and also taking into account the local police reports on the state it was the site of La Santa.
These reports stated that the surroundings of La Santa was having problems at the entrances to the sanctuary by the effects of rain and mud, so the procession could be dangerous for risk of falls or slips.
The pilgrimage has been postponed until Saturday January 9, so that day residents and visitors who wish to have the chance to accompany Santa on his return to his hermitage.
Thus the image of Santa Eulalia de Mérida will spend two days in the town.
