The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the Minister of Social Policy, Women and Immigration Bascuñana Joaquín, Murcia today signed a collaboration agreement for a total of 47,800 euros for the equipping of future Multipurpose Center for Persons with disabilities who come into operation throughout 2010.
The event, which has been assisted by the director general of the IMAS, Isabel Sola, and other mayors and representatives of various associations and social groups in the Region of Murcia, has been held at the headquarters of the Ministry.
In addition, the agreement includes the operation of a multisensory room in the current Child Development Center and Early Warning Totana which are open to children from zero to six years who have disabilities or at risk of suffering, and that the currently amounts to 90 users.
The agreement sets a contribution from the region of 36,000 euros, while the Consistory totanero 10801.03 contribute the remaining, allowing the implementation of the Multipurpose Center in the coming year, and built next to the Occupational Center "José Moya Trilla "in the neighborhood Tirol-Camilleri.
The center is a building with ground floor squares 850.17 meters, which provides services to some 40 beneficiaries and is divided into two parts: the first one aimed to the attention of people with mental illness and the second to the care of people with intellectual disabilities.
Dependence for persons with mental illness includes lobby and multipurpose space, a computer room, a focus group room, meeting room, treatment room, computer room, two offices of individual attention, multi-purpose training room , normal and adapted toilets, changing rooms with roll-in showers, kitchen and three offices for municipal entities.
The second area addressed to the care of people with intellectual disabilities are divided into two treatment rooms, an office of individual attention and a small store.
The mayor stressed the cooperation between both institutions to offer any assistance care resources for people with disabilities involved with the associations of this county and has stressed that Totana is a reference to regional level in this area through the involvement and efforts of the local associations on healthcare.
D'Genes
In addition, the Ministry has signed another agreement with the Association of Rare Disorders Totana (D'Genes) amounting to 5,000 euros to make a maintenance project activities and respite care services and psychological.
