The general director of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, Councillor for Sports, José Antonio Valverde Queen and the president of the Judo Federation of Murcia, Alejandro Martinez, presented the "IV International Judo Tournament Totana City" will be held this Saturday December 5 at the Municipal Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" in the town after 10 am and ends approximately at nine o'clock at night.
For this edition, held as part of the festivities in honor of Santa Eulalia, is expected to pass 150 judo participation from previous years to about 350 and has up to 50 referees and 40 technicians.
As explained the president of the Judo Federation of Murcia, the system of competition will be direct elimination with repechage and will be attended by elite athletes.
In previous editions have been moved to the town Isabel Fernández, Esther Miriam Blasco and San Miguel, and for this edition will move to Totana Isabel Fernandez, a world champion.
The big news this year is that the tournament is scoring for calcification of the 2010 European Championship since the tournament only to grade (the city of Madrid).
For this reason, as explained by the director general of Sport in Totana will bring together the best judoka of Spain as representatives of all the Autonomous Communities.
For his part, Councillor for Sports City of Totana explained that any judoka cadet who wants to join the Spanish team has to travel to Totana this Saturday, performing the registration through the Judo Federation of Murcia.
It has recognized that through the work of the Federation of Murcia what began as an exhibition of judo has become a national benchmark that puts Totana regarding the best place in the sport.
