Associations of Parents of the colleges of Totana, along with those of Alhama de Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras and Aledo are conducting a joint campaign to build in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, West Africa, three classrooms a local school.
The mayor of Education, Trini Cayuela, along with the head of the school AMPA "La Cruz", José Antonio García, the AMPA del Colegio "Santiago", Maria Dolores Lopez of AMPA del Colegio "San José", José Martínez, and AMPA del Colegio "Santa Eulalia" María Inmaculada Yllanes, presented the charity project, through which aim to help children in an area of Africa where education is very low.
The mayor has expressed its full support to this initiative, undertaken by the entire school community with enthusiasm and high hopes, through the solidarity which encourages children of Totana and conducive to African children who had no chance access to schooling, to do with the construction of these classrooms.
The idea of this initiative, as explained Jose Antonio Garcia, left a solidarity trip they made last year a group of people from various municipalities in which they could see first hand the conditions in which children are trained ; school deteriorated, overcrowded classes, and high price to attend class.
Therefore, pledged to carry out this charity campaign to get the 32,000 euros that they needed to build the classrooms.
The parents explained that they deposited money boxes in stores that want to participate with this initiative so that all those who wish to leave their donation.
Furthermore, in the last week of January, coinciding with the week of Peace, will take place in all schools a solidarity in which children leave their toys they no longer use and their partners can buy, so that the money will be collected for this purpose.
Items not sold will be presented later for sale in a public market.
Also, children can participate in the project working with 0.50 cents or 1 euro, which are deposited into a wall in which the school is drawn from Burkina Faso, so thus symbolically, small van building the school with their donations.
Among other actions, on 17 and 18 December was revived the play by Federico García Lorca, 'Bodas de Sangre ", staged by the company's Secondary School" Prado Mayor "Socio-Cultural Center" La Carcel " , and can be a piggy bank for those attendees that wish to collaborate with the cause.
Also, next Sunday, November 29, installed in the craft market in the Santa Mobile Information Point to provide information about the project.
