The people of El Paretón-Raiguero Cantareros and of today can learn from and process the necessary documents in the Citizen Service Centre (SAC) of the hamlet of El Paretón for the Segura basin (CHS) recognize the irrigated areas hitherto not yet registered as water areas.
The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the mayor of Agriculture and Water and Chair of the Community of Irrigators, Juan Pagan, have realized the cooperation agreement between the municipality and the organization through which those who want to learn about expansion of irrigated areas conducted by the CHS.
Water The mayor explained that this recognition of the land and water area has no immediate right to obtain water, but once the availability of water resources, these areas are legally recognized as irrigable.
In this sense, explained that the Segura River Basin has been recognized within the perimeter of the irrigation areas Paretón, Raiguero and gardens area.
He has also stated that this is a unique opportunity for those lands that have not recognized the right to irrigation, because, in this way, once you have water, can irrigate farmland.
Pagan has indicated that the central government must understand that we must begin to change the political strategies for the agriculture sector, which is the engine that creates jobs in times of crisis, not more affected by the difference prices between the source and the consumer price.
In this sense, both the mayor and the council of Agriculture, thanked the more than 200 residents who moved last week to the demonstration that took place in Madrid to ask for more solutions to the current industry crisis.
Likewise, Pagan has indicated that we must defend our agriculture in Spain and Europe with nails and teeth and not to promises never kept.
Thus, Pagan pointed out that farmers demand only laws that allow the money they are paying consumers is distributed fairly, and not in favor of large surfaces, which are the ones really making money.
