The Directorate General of Crafts and Trade of the Autonomous Region of Murcia has awarded a grant to the City Council of Totana to provide continuity during the year 2010 for the installation of artisan market near the Shrine of the Holy.
This market, held the last Sunday of each month in this spot in the county, with nearly 20 artisans permanent displays, all accredited and endorsed by the hallmark of the Craft in the Region of Murcia offer the visitor their good work and the fruit of his work with the warmth that characterizes them.
Thus, the Consistory totanero will receive a total of 15,213 euros for the continuation of market, amounting in total to EUR 22,489.60.
The remaining balance will be financed by the city of Totana.
Councilwoman Crafts, Isabel Sanchez Ruiz, expressed his satisfaction about it, because the monthly market is being very popular among visitors.
He noted that this will allow, "the master craftsmen can sell their products directly to visitors who come to the market, which will be decorated with demonstrations of crafts are made by ourselves and local associations."
In this sense, the mayor stressed the importance of "interaction binomial Totana tourism-craft" and the need to work "in order to enhance both together."
