The Department of Education of the City of Totana and the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment of the Region of Murcia are launching a year a "Classroom Occupational" Prevention and Control of Truancy to be held during the school year 2009 / 10, in order to continue the work that has been developing in this direction for two years in Totana.
This program, which opened on November 2, is an extraordinary organizational measure educational promotion takes place at the stage of compulsory secondary education, and has the duration of the school year.
As explained the mayor of Education, Trini Cayuela, the objective of this program is to equip students with knowledge prelaborares, notably by facilitating its continuation in Initial Vocational Training Program.
The council has explained that participating in the classroom a total of 15 students from different centers Totana Secondary Education, the program being located in the old Secondary School.
The contents to be taught in that classroom would be, above all, practical and manipulative, and students will receive comprehensive training by a professional team composed of a teacher and an art teacher, both provided by the Ministry of Education, a monitor Physical Education, two educational technicians carry out technical activities, and a Municipal Service for Prevention and Control Truancy will coordinate the program and will monitor these children in collaboration with the IES Prado Mayor, the Educational Center to is assigned the Hall this year.
Cayuela has indicated that additional activities be undertaken with the collaboration of the Department of Social Welfare through the project "Socio-integration of children and youth at risk of social exclusion", funded by the Ministry of Labour and Immigration.
The main objective of this project is to promote and make the learning process of children between 12 and 16 years from family and social contexts that require support for capacity building, skills and attitudes aimed at inclusion, social participation and citizen coexistence .
