Totana City Council signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Region of Murcia to continue the conduct of the case, framed in the Municipal Plan for Drug Dependency, through co-financing activities organized by both entities.
The local Consistory, through the Department of Social Welfare, has been developing since 1996 a series of actions aimed at the Prevention of Drug Addiction, target the entire population, with special attention to risk groups and communities affected by the consumption drugs.
These actions include sensitization workshops are held in the school environment, organization and support the development of actions of the "Municipal School Parents", information campaigns and community-oriented intervention in open meetings social framework, among other things.
Through this agreement, the Autonomous Community of Murcia will provide 17,000 for the development of this Plan, the City Council having to provide at least the amount of 2,000 euros.
This agreement aims at establishing cooperation between the Ministry of Health, through the General Directorate of Citizen Services, Addictions and Consumption, and the town of Totana, for the better performance of the Area Plan on Prevention of Drug Addiction Local Drug Addiction, through active participation, involving different sectors and, secondly, the creation of structures and channels of participation, that promote community leadership in the transformation of the factors that encourage drug use.
