The autonomous region provides a total of 184,000 euros to strengthen consumer protection in 19 municipalities
Totana City Council receives a grant to carry out consumer protection policies and the maintenance of the Municipal Office of Consumer and User Information (OMIC).
Thus, the Governing Council has approved a grant of 184,000 euros to 19 municipalities in the region to carry out consumer protection policies and users, to inform them of their rights and obligations and the rational use and establishes preventive and remedial mechanisms to protect their rights.
The municipalities carry out awareness campaigns and training, participate in the Consumer Arbitration System and control the market in accordance with regional and national campaigns to be carried out in terms of consumption.
The Ministry of Health, in turn, train staff of local services consumer protection, process records and maintain services sanctioning of Consumer and User Defense, Arbitration Board and Regional Inspectorate of Consumer Affairs.
Also, local governments will join the rapid exchange of information and participate in the program for the detection of dangerous products notified by the Red Alert at the municipal level (prevents).
Abarán beneficiaries are municipalities, Alguazas, Alhama de Murcia, Cartagena, Cehegín, Ceuta, Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorca, Commonwealth of the Eastern Region (Abanilla, Beniel, Fortuna and Santomera), Mazarron Moratalla, Puerto Lumbreras, San Javier, Totana, Torre Pacheco and Yecla.
