The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, Councillor for Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, and Council Member of Health, Trini Cayuela, participated yesterday in the activities developed within the "V Encuentro Solidarity and Alzheimer Friends" through which Totana is commemorated in the World Alzheimer's Day.
During yesterday morning, he officiated a homily in the parish of Santiago and then held in a relationship in which food was a tribute to the association members who have died.
Through this meeting, organized by the Association of Families and People with Alzheimer "The Carrasca of the Holy" in collaboration with the Association "Peace Messengers" and funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Health with the collaboration of Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in the Region of Murcia, has tried to raise awareness of the disease and disseminate information, and request the support and solidarity of citizens are not affected, promoting volunteerism.
The mayor congratulated the work done by the association, calling for joint efforts with health authorities and government to continue working with the aim of improving the quality of life of these people.
