The councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, and the president of the Association of Families and People with Alzheimer "The Carrasca of the Holy", Dolores López Valenzuela, have been responsible for giving the go-ahead to the activities under the " V Solidarity Meeting of Friends and People with Alzheimer's, "organized on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day.
This meeting organized by the Association of Families and People with Alzheimer "The Carrasca of the Holy" in collaboration with the Association "Peace Messengers" and funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in the Region of Murcia.
These activities aim to raise awareness of the disease and disseminate information, and request the support and solidarity of citizens are not affected, promoting volunteerism.
The mayor congratulated the work done by the association, calling for joint efforts with health authorities and government to continue working with the aim of improving the quality of life of these people.
It also expressed its satisfaction with the functioning of the Service Alzheimer's Day Care Totana (SEDA), which serves a total of fifteen users.
The activities have started this morning with a lunch totanero celebration that took place in the center of Day and Day Care Alzheimer's, where users and professionals in the service are able to taste typical local products.

The activities will continue on Friday, September 25 at 19:00 pm with the presentation of activities of SEDA, by psychologist and coordinator of the SEDA, Susi Andreo Olmos.
At 20:00 will be held another conference on Alzheimer's, by the Association for Peace Messengers ", and then will begin a musical entertained by the" Friends of the Habanera, "Socio-Cultural Center" The prison. "
On Sunday 27 September, the mayor of Totana and the councilman of Social Welfare will attend the celebration of the Eucharist, to be held at noon in the parish of Santiago and then will perform a tribute to deceased members of the association.
To end the program of activities, at 14:00 pm and will hold a dinner with family, friends, members, volunteers and caregivers in the restaurant "Sale of the Rat."
