In this sense, the Councillor for Sports, José Antonio Valverde Queen, said that "increasingly it is clear that sport is a tool of integration, education and participation, an activity that conveys important individual and collective values and a factor social cohesion and creating healthy habits. Moreover, in support of the initiative promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC), the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), through its Commission of Sports and Leisure, Councillor Sports has seen fit to join the initiative to promote the declaration of a European Sports Day, "as a means of promoting the values underlying his practice involved in our society", as declared.
