The councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion Tudela, recently visited the activities of the project "Integration of children and youth rehabilitative or at risk of social exclusion", in which more than a dozen local youths aged 12 and 16.
During the visit, he conducted a self-esteem workshop led by Manuel Figueroa, the association "Centro Integra", which works on various issues such as emotions, family relationships, causes of low self-esteem and relaxation, among other things .
This project is funded by the Directorate of Integration of Immigrants, Ministry of Labour and Immigration and main objective is to promote and make the learning process of children between 12 and 16 years from family backgrounds and social disadvantage and educational level have deficits , family and society, strengthening their capacities, skills and attitudes to inclusion, social participation and citizen coexistence.
Within the project plans to develop other social and educational activities through the month of December.
These activities will range from social skills workshops, educational support, creative workshops, substance abuse prevention, sports, positive employment activities leisure etc.
Coinciding with the start of the school year from the Social Welfare Department will coordinate with the schools in the locality for the possible referral of children at social risk in order to include them also in the activities carried out in this project.
