The Municipal Tourist Information Office in Totana has received nearly 4,000 visitors during the months of July and August, an increase of 700 visitors over the previous summer, as reported from the Department of Tourism.
Specifically, these municipal facilities located in the street before General Aznar number 12, which moved last June to City Hall, on Main Street Seville, number 2, have been recorded in its list of data collection a 3,657 total visits.
Most visits to this office have been made by foreigners, mostly English, followed by French and German.
Also during the month of July, there were 2600 visits requesting information on the Programme of Activities of the Fiestas de Santiago, and 300 visitors seeking an overview of the most emblematic places of the town, requiring street of the city and interested in the heritage the municipality.
Another request more popular among visitors has been connected with the celebration of the weekly market held on Wednesdays in the town, and the conclusion of the monthly craft market, held at the end of each month (except the month of August) in the vicinity of the Shrine of the Holy.
Similarly, during the month of August, the number of visits recorded amounts to the amount of 657, being mostly English, nearly 80 percent, who have requested information on the festivals of the various neighborhoods and districts that held in the town during the summer months.
The Councillor for Tourism, Ana Belén García López, who has expressed his satisfaction with the smooth operation of the service, recalled that last June the Municipal Tourist Information Office, part of the network of Tourist Offices in the Region Murcia, received ISO 9001:2008 certification of the Network of Tourist Information Offices.
