Murcia University taught a course on "Media Education in a Multicultural Society", offered by the Universidad Internacional del Mar, at the headquarters of Totana from 14 to 18 September in the center Sociocultural "Jail", as reported Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela.
The mayor expressed her satisfaction that Totana in the previous edition debuted as host of the Sea International University, where he taught a course for the first time encompassed in the curriculum that the University offered during the summer months, and thanked UMU cooperation and support shown to carry out this initiative of "great significance" in the town.
Through this course, which will be led by Francisco Javier Ballesta Pagan, is intended to assess the impact of mass media in multicultural society, analyze information and training function of the mass media (press, radio, TV, Internet. ..), propose methodological strategies to train citizens in the understanding of media content and establish collaborative proposals between Education and the Media.
The course of 30 hours' duration, be honored for 3 elective credits may be carried out by students, graduates and people interested in the topic that are not linked to academic studies at a set price of 95 euros, and must apply register before September 7.
As prescribed in the program on Monday, 14 will be inaugurated, at 10:00 am the conference "Deconstruction of the gaze from school productions," San Martín Ángel Alonso of the University of Valencia, at 13: 00 hours, the talk "dialogue and communication for the development of people," the hand of Baltasar Magro Santana, a journalist and writer.
On Tuesday September 15 at 9:00 pm "Digital skills in multicultural society", hosted by Maria Luisa Sevillano García, National University of Distance Education, and 13:00 pm "Learning to enjoy the press "the hand of Donaciano Bartolomé Crespo, Complutense University.
On Wednesday September 16 at 9:00 am will be a conference "The role of women in the media", offered by Isabel Cantón Mayo, University of León, and 13:00 pm "How to make News, "by Joaquin Azparren Irigoyen, director Onda Regional de Murcia.
On Thursday at 9:00 am will be a conference "XXI century Journalism, spectacle and conditions" by Ginés Jiménez Conesa, journalist, and 13:00 pm, "Education and the Media: cooperation necessary," Mariano Caballero Carpena , Deputy director Truth.
