The prize fund of 50,000 euros, the project, whose study has been prepared by the Faculty of Biology, University of Murcia
The project "Increase of biodiversity in the town of Totana: Restoration and management of the Rambla de Lebor as green connector between the mountains of La Tercia-Guadalentín Espuña and Rio has secured a prize of 50,000 euros, the" II Competition for Biodiversity Projects ", organized by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the Ministry of Environment.
Of the 14 prizes awarded at the state contest, the City of Totana has positioned itself in the D, the project funded by the Department of Environment and edited by the Faculty of Biology, University of Murcia.
As the mayor explained the Environment, Trini Cayuela, the achievement of this important statewide award means that, through an agreement signed with the FEMP, the project will be carried out thanks to money award.
Through this project, whose lines of action have been marked by the Department of Ecology and Hydrology, Biology, enhance and strengthen natural populations of "Ziziphus" in the surroundings of the Rambla de Lebor in upper stretch and recover cohesion structure of the gully, and the dynamics and the ecological balance, were analyzed.
Moreover, as explained Cayuela, will recover the structure and function of the promenade at the mouth and propose guidelines for handling and managing agricultural and farming to promote connectivity through commitment and collaboration agreements with the various groups involved.
The City Council of Totana, part of the Network of Local Governments Biodiversity collect this prestigious award on 11 September in Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara).
