The Department of Social Welfare has launched the project "Integration of children and youth rehabilitative or at risk of social exclusion", which aims to promote and make the learning process of children between 12 and 16.
This project is funded by the Directorate of Integration of Immigrants, Ministry of Labour and Immigration, in their call for the development of innovative projects that promote the integration of immigrants.
The project's main objective is to promote and make the learning process of children aged between 12 and 16 years (immigrant and native) from disadvantageous family and social contexts and who have deficits in education, family and society, strengthening their capacities , skills and attitudes to inclusion, social participation and citizen coexistence and preventing the emergence of future situations of exclusion, vulnerability and social conflict.
The project also will develop a series of activities such as socio social skills workshops, career counseling, creative workshops, substance abuse prevention, self esteem, positive employment activities leisure etc.
These activities will begin in late July and continue through December.
