The Councillor for New Technologies, Juan Carrion, along with professor of computer science, they handed over the diplomas to students RAITOTANA Project, which during the first half of 2009 were formed almost 300 people.
During the ceremony, which took place last Friday, the mayor stressed the importance and the revolution that has brought the project for training and access to new technologies in Totana, bringing computers and Internet to all citizens.
Specifically, a total of 282 people have received training in new technologies during the first half of 2009 more than 40 courses developed in the computer rooms of El Parral, Citizen Participation, The Prison, CLD and Balsa Vieja.
RAITOTANA (Network Computer Rooms Totana) is a local initiative project that has united under a single name different computer rooms of the town of Totana.
Currently there are ten local computer rooms made available to the public, under various agreements between the city of Totana and other agencies; 4 Unrestricted Walas, 3 3 Internet Rural Telecentres and set up the computer rooms with Internet access in the municipality.
The courses offer the following courses comprise: computer literacy (20 h), basic computer and Internet (30 h), Internet (20 h), Word documents (20 h), Excel spreadsheet (20 h) , Access database (20 h), Power Point (15 h), and digital photography (15 H).
As the mayor explained, it is training, since there are no specific dates for completion of the courses they are becoming gradually as the demand for them.
Applications for courses can be collected and delivered at City Hall or in places where they are to conduct the training.
In the organization of different courses are involved the Department of Culture, the Department of Citizenship, the Department of Public Works and Employment, Social Welfare Department, the Department of Women and the Collective for Social Promotion "The candle ", all under the coordination of the Department of New Technologies through RAITOTANA project.
Besides the training aspect, the classrooms have received several thousand hits in its role as free access, which you can access the classroom at a time for free access.
For free access have been developed for all activities related to Internet connection: Navigation, Email, Chat, etc.
Also, users have enjoyed other services such as webcam for video conferencing, printing, scanner, etc.
Ahead of the second half of 2009 the project appears more promising, since the demand for training in new technologies is high and the proof is that there is a waiting list for their realization.
