Totana City Council created a task force to develop a plan of economic viability through which to draw up a joint project with further measures to mitigate and counteract the effects of the crisis in the municipality and improve the situation of the Consistory.
This initiative is included in the counter-opinion presented by the Municipal People's motion to replace Socialist Municipal Group which developed a total of 20 measures to improve the economic situation totanero Consistory.
One by one, the spokespersons of the three political groups have broken down and analyzed the measures submitted by the parties.
Thus, we have adopted with the votes for the Popular Party and the abstention of the United Left + The Greens and the PSOE, the creation of the working committee to be presented in late June, a document that will reflect all viable proposals submitted by political groups to improve economic and financial situation of the Consistory and the town of Totana.
In addition, the City Council has urged the National Government to create a Special Fund for municipal funding for 2009, worth 1,000 million euros earned by the VAT recovered from the activities generated by the Local Investment Fund.
The Municipal People's Government claims that this fund might be used for current expenditure of the Local Authorities.
Regional Financing
Also, the House also asked the Government to address reform and stable enough local funding immediately and simultaneously with the introduction of the new model of regional financing.
This reform, as adopted in plenary, will be in line with the commitments made by the Government and the Motion passed by a large majority of the members of the House of Representatives at its meeting on 24 June 2008.
In the same motion has added two of the proposals submitted by the Municipal Socialist Group in calling for the development of a new Local Investment Plan for 2010 and 2011 for an amount similar to 2009.
Also requests the Autonomous Regional Investment Plan Local similar to that developed by the central government to avoid increasing the debt to banks and to maintain public investment in the municipality.
The Government team spokesman, José Antonio Valverde Reina, explained that at a sitting can not analyze and study the proposals presented by opposition groups, which, as has been pointed out, some of them are viable if they are working in depth.
It has therefore encouraged the groups to collaborate in the commission which will meet regularly to develop the Feasibility Plan.
