Totana City Council will join the global initiative called "Earth Hour" to mobilize society and remember the important role it can play in actively combating climate change.
This was announced the council of the Environment, Trini Cayuela, which has reported the blackout that will occur this Saturday, March 28 20:30 to 21:30 hours, and turn off the lights of monuments, businesses and homes in more than one cities around the world, "to raise awareness of the problem and know the importance of our participation in the conservation of the planet and in solving environmental problems."
Earth Hour 2009 is a global initiative of WWF (one of the largest independent organizations dedicated to conservation of nature)
The mayor stressed that Totana has joined this initiative and turn off lights during Earth Hour, the exterior lighting monuments: City Hall, St. James Church, Chapel of the Miraculous and Sacred Heart.
The call is open and is the disconnection of electricity consumption in homes, workplaces, public and private facilities and public facilities during that period of time.
