The talk about "My son wants to study, what I can do?", Framed by the Municipal School of Parents, organized by the Department of Education and Social Welfare, developed in the Socio-Cultural Center "The Prison" and was attended than twenty people.
In this talk, from the association FEMMES, a partnership with a wide experience in problems of truancy, attended by about 20 parents of both Spanish and Ecuadorian nationality, analyzed the causes of truancy and demotivation before the study.
The origins of these causes can be found in the family where the child can be forced to leave school to help the family finances, or carelessness of parents in the education of your child at school, where child may experience rejection by peers, or problems of adaptation to school environment.
These sources can also be found in the social sphere, where the child may leave absentee peer influence, and in the psychological, produced by the obligation of having to attend school until age 16, when the child wants to work.
To these causes were proposed several alternatives, including the need to diversify educational opportunities, increasing participation of parents in education and improve institutional coordination among various agencies and agents.
The talk, more than two hours, passed with great momentum thanks to the participation of parents, and the availability of the speaker to answer questions.
