The construction of storm sewers and sewage network, carried out jointly by the departments of Facility Management and City Planning and Development in the Tyrol area Camileri, provide solutions to historic problems of flooding after fall in the last heavy rains.
The mayor of the City Comprehensive Maintenance, Sergio López, explained that after raining heavily all night and part of the day has been shown that the new sewerage system solves the traditional problems suffered by residents of this neighborhood when it rained heavily .
During the works built a storm drain with a concrete pipe with a thickness of 800 mm in diameter and a length of 547 meters.
The collector, as indicated López, has its starting point in the lowest part of the neighborhood, next to the Occupational Center "José Moya, where water is collected and diverted to the Rambla de La Santa.
For waste waters have different scuppers placed on the road fitted with a cast iron grate suitable for heavy traffic.
The mayor stressed that in addition to the works under the project made several improvements such as placing more scuppers, asphalting of the street Carmen Conde, among others.
The project, which started out with a budget of 360,000 euros, amounted to nearly 440,000 euros due to the initial project improvements that have taken place over the course of the works.
