The councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion Tudela, was present at the opening of the Eighth International Conference on Charities and Voluntary UCAM 2009 "Reconciliation and Hope" in Murcia has been represented the town of Totana through a stand of National Association Our Lady Salus Infirmorum.

This sample is included within the International Conference on Charities and Volunteers, organized by the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), in collaboration with the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer Juan Pablo II, IICV, and Social Policy Ministry of Murcia.
The exhibition, taking place from Wednesday 25 February until 8 March on the Paseo Alfonso X of capital in the UCAM Murcia and are intended as a space for reflection and information for national associations and international aid and all those involved in tasks of social development.
The various and varied activities to be implemented over the conference will highlight the current relationship between three interdependent areas such as development, peace and volunteerism.
Thus, M ª José García López, coordinator of the association, stressed that in this new edition of voluntary service to the principle of this event lies in the social culture of charity and justice for the most helpless and needy. "
The entrance to the acts which are encompassed within these days, except those requiring prior approval, is free to fill the capacity.
Also, for those students interested UCAM, these sessions are offered as elective credits.
For its part, the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer John Paul II, under the UCAM, is intended to work for social development in the areas of teaching, research and promotion of volunteerism.
To this end, the institute trained professionals with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary understanding of the person, their needs, their actions and the social context in which they live.
It also provides individuals, associations, organizations, and society in general, the relevant guidance in the field of social assistance.
