The new council of European Programmes, Juan Carrion, submitted a motion to the full City Council to urge the General Directorate of Institutional Relations and External Action of the Presidential and Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of Murcia to support the conclusion in town of Totana of the celebrations of May 9th day of the European Union.
Also, through this proposal, the mayor intends to organize, participate and support the acts performed by public and private entities to commemorate the day of the European Union.
In this regard, the mayor, said that 9 May is celebrated as the Day of the European Union and the town of Totana like to join this celebration with a series of acts and shows the interest of the government team to contribute to the establishment of Community values of peace and solidarity and consolidate the good relations with the European residents.
Every country which democratically decide to join the European Union adopted the values of peace and solidarity that are the cornerstone of European integration, as explained Carrion Tudela, who noted that "these values find expression through economic and social development of environmental and regional dimensions which are to ensure a quality of living for all citizens. "
