Totana City Council will pay tribute to the work that teachers play in this town to thank the educational and pedagogical contribution made to the municipality and its citizens, calling a square, located in the neighborhood Triptolemos, named "La Plaza del Maestro ".
Through this initiative, promoted by the Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela, is to publicly acknowledge the work they perform, and appreciate the educational contribution made in Totana, in order to increase the prestige and value of teaching and raise self-esteem of teachers.
Professional recognition for teachers is a historic debt, as indicated by the mayor that "we all have with this group, since the dignity of the teaching is a challenge that requires that the Administration is to promote actions of institutional recognition" .
In this sense, Cayuela said "the value that teachers must have to devote to education, especially if we value the many challenges this work entails, and it takes courage, courage, passion, enthusiasm, joy and devotion total, and vocation. "
Also, the mayor noted that currently face the existential crisis of values "the difficult task of teaching is becoming more difficult and complicated and it is true, we all leave the responsibility for education in the hands of the teacher."
This initiative presented by the Councillor for Education at Full Council held last week, was agreed unanimously by all political groups of the Municipal Corporation, who agreed to jointly name "La Plaza del Maestro" to one of the newly created Triptolemos neighborhood.
