Students of the Municipal Schools Sporting de Totana have been responsible for planting over a hundred trees in the Ciudad Deportiva "Espuña" to get the afforestation of the sports complex.
This initiative arose from the departments of Environment, Services and Sports to keep Christmas trees that people put in their homes during the Christmas season, ended up in containers and create awareness to the natural environment and sustainable development .
Although very few people have actively responded to this campaign, the children have planted over a hundred Aleppo pines in the sports complex.
In this way, families can see how the tree grows, which will put the name of the person who planted it.
The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Reina, explained that the trees planted have been used for the afforestation of the sports complex, so that, during a ceremony held this morning, have combined to perfection the environment sport.
For his part, Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, who participated in the planting along with the Environment Councillor, Trina Cayuela, Councilman Services, Sergio Cánovas López, and the Councillor for Sports, José Antonio Valverde, indicated that one of the characteristics of the municipality is its large expanse of parkland and gardens.
So, as indicated by the mayor, there are many neighbors who planted the trees in the garden to see them grow and care for them so special.
It also stressed that the initiative to restore the Christmas trees and planting is a very good action through which ensures that the sports complex, "Sierra Espuña" some day become a large green space.
