More than 140 students from Public School "San Jose" de Totana participate in indoor football championship against violence and xenophobia, framed in the project "I-Media, which develops the Collective for Social Promotion" The Candle " more than one year.
This group develops in the San José CP Mediation Project and Intervention School under the name "I-Media, funded by the Service to Diversity of the Ministry of Education and developed in close coordination with the management team and teacher of the school and with other stakeholders: social services program, truancy prevention, etc.
This project is a proposal for social and educational intervention in schools, a pioneer in the Region of Murcia, which already has a year of existence and has made available to the school community a resource for the prevention and treatment of violent situations school, which is expressed through conflicts between students or between student and teacher, working at the same time study habits and social skills.
During last December launched the Football Championship being conducted at the time of recreation and involving 140 students of the school into three categories depending on the course to which they belong, and two teams of animators.
This championship is part of the activities since the project I-Media, with the aim of achieving the revitalization of recreation through games that is essential to use techniques of teamwork, cooperation, and learning the importance of respect by the rules and thus achieving peers to prevent and reduce conflict and violence in schools.
Futsal Championship, which began last December and runs through March, is performed round robin with a total of 27 teams of 5 students each and two groups of animators, as well get a great involvement of teachers and school management team, who will be responsible to deliver several trophies in various categories: the porter fewest goals in the championship, the top scorer of the championship, First Cycle Team Champion, Team Champion Second Cycle and Third Cycle Champion Team.
From "The Candle" have made an assessment of this activity, from which are extracted results so far "very encouraging", he noted, as are the high degree of satisfaction displayed by participating students, the great involvement in the development of activity, learning basic rules of respect for peers, the implementation of cooperative techniques and teamwork, the improvement in intercultural relations, etc.
