The Full Council of Totana has agreed, unanimously, all local groups, the proposal presented by the Department of Environment to proceed with the signing of an agreement with the Forest Technology Centre of Catalonia, CTFC, to repopulate acres of municipally owned parcel, located on the Mount of the Holy of the town in the Regional Park of Sierra Espuña.
The purpose of the agreement is to establish the basis for collaboration between the Forest Technology Centre and the city of Totana to carry out reforestation and replanting over the next year 2009 in the plot of a hectare of municipal ownership, of the countryside.
The afforestation work, as explained by the mayor, include the preparation of the ground with a mechanized auger, planting a number of plants to determine the native species selected, the placement of individual biodegradable protective tubes for each seedling and the realization support irrigation.
The execution of the work will take place through the recruitment by the CTFC to a forestry company to perform site preparation (Auger) a few days before planting.
Planting takes place on a Saturday BIES personnel involved in the supervision and technical advice from engineers CTFC, and replanting will take place during the year after planting.
