Totana City Library has recently received an award for the fifth consecutive year, presented annually by the General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries, which recognizes the work done in actions for the promotion, dissemination and promotion of reading, according to informed the Councillor of Culture, Ana Belen Garcia.
Therefore, the General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries has awarded a prize to the Municipal Library of Totana, located in the Socio-Cultural Center "The Jail", which has a batch of 350 books, obtained through the animation contest reading for the year 2008, which promotes the General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
This twelfth call aims to encourage actions to encourage reading, and library work efficiency and social inclusion in libraries of municipalities with fewer than 50,000 residents through the provision of lots of books to libraries that will to develop or are developing activities to promote reading or any other similar activity that seeks to promote the habit of reading among children and youth.
The councilman of Culture, Ana Belén García, explained that this award recognizes dedication to the programming, promotion and dissemination activities to encourage reading that from the municipal library is being carried out, for several years as the fifth Once Totana Municipal Library received this award.
