"Project Assistance and Socio-Guided Study for Students of Elementary and Secondary Education" launched from the Municipal Service of Prevention and Truancy Control of the Department of Education of the City of Totana, aims to provide educational support to children between 6 and 16 years at risk of failure and / or truancy.
This initiative will take place, as reported by the Councillor for Education, by a grant from the Regional Employment Service and Training, which bear the costs of the workforce employed in this case a primary school teacher.
The project, its objectives, seeks to prevent truancy in these students, involving families in the educational process of their children, giving an individual response to the educational, personal and social thereof, and to encourage education and attendance.
The main activities included in the project are those related to the reinforcement and homework support in the lower school has been some delay, study skills, motivational activities to study, family guidance on study habits, interviews with families and children to establish agreements and continued contact with teachers, tutors and counselors from other schools.
School support will be provided in small groups and homogeneous than 5 students per group, lasting an hour and a half, for two days a week, in the afternoon.
Will take place in local municipal and / or in schools, beginning during the month of November and ending in June 2009.
To participate in this educational project, students are referred from schools, according to needs identified by the guardians of them.
The project also envisages the possibility of having a certain number of trained and qualified staff to carry a greater number of students.
