The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, along with more council of the government team and representatives of Union Progreso y Democracia (UPyD) have planted 30 indigenous trees in the Ciudad Deportiva de Totana to commemorate the 30 anniversary of the Constitution, held morning on 6 December.
The Plenum of the Corporation approved unanimously by all political groups in the November meeting of the motion filed by the Municipal Socialist Group in proposing this plantation.
This morning the political representatives who attended the ceremony proceeded to the plantation.
Each tree represents a year of operation of the Constitution as a symbol of hope in the future, progress and Spanish democracy.
Totana Mayor read a manifesto stressed that thanks to the Constitution have been achieved three decades of consolidation and expansion of rights, progress towards full equality, and also a social, economic and cultural development without precedent.
The mayor has emphasized that the spirit of harmony that forged our transition to democracy, the desire for reconciliation and the will to live peacefully together, have made our country a beacon around the world trust in dialogue, tolerance, seeking respect and mutual understanding.
