The council's Equal Opportunities and Women, Josefa María Sánchez Méndez, has awarded prizes of "I Art Contest for Equality Totana 2008" and "II Poster Competition against gender violence."
These contests are conducted in order to prevent discrimination and to sensitize the public to a change in the pattern of social relations between men and women who conceive a coexistence without violence, said the mayor in charge of the municipal area.
The first prize of art has been collected by the winner, Concepción del Moral Navarro, for the play "Same-da."
According to its author, its title should not care for the side to watch because it looks the same and that, specifically, should happen to human beings: we all look the same, with the same rights and obligations.
The runners-resident natural to Totana, worth 500 euros, went to work "outrageous (glassy theme)" by David Lopez Ruiz.
The author extols the values of equality, duty, perseverance and freedom that every human being must have in no case can we get rid of them.

On the other hand, Sanchez Mendez has proceeded to the awards "II Poster Competition against gender violence", in which participating students from schools in the locality.
Specifically, the first prize of 200 euros, and the second prize has been picked up by a group of students from Public School Santiago, and the second, with 150 euros, has been given to Dolores Valenzuela and Jessica Serrano, Reina Sofía CP .
