The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, Councillor of Education, Roque Molina, along with other municipal authorities, inaugurated yesterday the Point of Care for Children "Doña Pepita López Gandía" located in the urbanization El Parral de Totana, with the IES "Juan de la Cierva".
Many families moved to the school to proceed to cut the ribbon and unveiling of the plaque bearing the name of the deceased parvula "Gandía Patty Lewis, wife of the Official Chronicler of Totana, Matthew Garcia.
The Councillor for Education explained that the nursery school, the third in the municipality, responds to a request from the residents of this neighborhood.
Since last September around 60 children are enrolled in the center and next year as anticipated Molina, will be over 130 little ones who can be trained, as in the 2009 regional budget includes the subsidy Consistory receive Social Policy for the construction of the second phase.

The infrastructure hosts eight children's classrooms first cycle (children aged 1 to 2 years) to accommodate a maximum of 25 children each, toilet modules, an administrative area with offices, staff room, reception, public toilets, clothing , kitchen, dining room, store, playground and garden area, among other services.
As the mayor said, the building, located across the street to the corner Santomera San Antonio, is on one level and has projected adapted for people with disabilities, adapted toilets and changing rooms as well as ramps.
The full City Council unanimously recognized the selfless work of the Elementary Education teacher for many years he was a child of the municipality.

For his part, Mateo García, the widower of Patty Lewis Gandía, welcomed the recognition of the work done by his late wife.

Martínez Andreo announced that early next year will begin building the second phase of the center, five new classrooms which represent an investment of 600,000 euros.
