Students and professionals in Occupational Center "José Moya" in the town commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held Sunday December 3, with various activities during the day.
On the one hand, a total of 16 students of the Vocational Centre "José Moya, along with three companions are participating in the Regional Championship of Table Tennis for People with Disabilities by traversing Cartagena in two vans adapted.
On the other hand, other students and users of the Centre was making activities of various kinds, such as preparation of a birth in the pottery workshop to carry out the Christmas decorations downtown, kinds of management information and activities of independence staff, among other things.
From the Occupational Center have indicated that the students have expressed their satisfaction with the institutional reception held at City Hall of students and professionals, who believe that "in this way highlights the importance of disability in the XXI century ".
Also, students and professionals came to the center throughout the day to read a manifesto, noting that "for many years people with disabilities have been excluded from access to education, work, leisure, housing independent, and other fields of social life, but today we can say that they have overcome some barriers and begin to regard people with disabilities as individuals with rights, however it is to be raised alternatives to improve this situation. "
Finally, the school management stresses the importance of increased investment in programs of assistance to persons with disabilities, if you want to achieve an improved quality of life in this important social sector.
