The Department of Social Welfare, through Psychosocial Support Service (SAP) has launched recently a plastic workshop aimed at people with mental health diagnosis in the municipality.
This development project has a workshop instructor of Fine Arts, which has a great professional career in the field of plastic.
This initiative aims to provide a space for expression and creation to the participants.
This workshop Psychosocial Support Service, is close to the tools and concepts of the so-called "Art Therapy" which uses the visual arts in therapy.
In this way the SAP diversifies and expands services to people with mental illness who attend daily.
Through this project, the plaster work, the modeling of ceramics, jewelry, various techniques of painting, collage, leather.
All these techniques adapted to the needs and possibilities of the different participants.
The workshop, which will last for nine months, is possible thanks to funding from the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia, which awarded a grant to the City Council for their development.
