The municipal officials of Tourism, Ana Belén García, and Planning and Development, María José Bedia, visited the refurbishment work on the route of pilgrimage and trekking to the Holy Totana, in order to check the completion status of them.
These works were awarded by the Local Government amounting to 36,000 euros, under a grant from the Ministry of Tourism and Consumer Affairs of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
Through this grant amounting to 30,000 euros, including the Tourist Routes Plan to the Local Authority, the Town Hall will assume the remaining balance thereof amounting to 6,000 euros.
The project, approved by the Local Government envisaged the completion of two picnic areas, signage, including paving of the base and placing wooden logs for the delimitation of the road.
In this way, explained Councillor for Planning and Sustainable Development, María José Bedia, has adopted best tourist infrastructures for the development of the network of routes and ecotours of the municipality.
For his part, Councillor for Tourism, Ana Belén García, expressed his satisfaction towards the completion of these works, since in his opinion "the path of Totana to Santa is one of the most visited tourist-linking as religious and comprising leisure, due to the large number of people who made this journey. "
