Citizens seeking their national identity documents in Totana DNI will no longer be traditional, but are Electronic ID (eID).
These new forms of identification are similar to traditional ones, but incorporate a smart card that can store digital signatures to make arrangements with individual telematics government.
The City makes available to the citizen information service 010 to request an appointment to apply for the renewal or creation of new document in the municipality.
The main novelty of the DNIe is that this document includes a small integrated circuit (chip), able to securely store and to process information internally.
In order to incorporate this chip, the ID changes its traditional support (plastic card) with a plastic card, equipped with new and enhanced security measures.
The DNIe allows, in addition to its traditional use, access to new services for the Information Society, which will extend the capabilities of acting at a distance with government, with businesses and other citizens.
As explained Councilwoman Technologies, Trinidad Cayuela, the electronic ID is an opportunity to accelerate the implementation of the Information Society that will benefit all citizens.
It has also indicated that enable wider deployment of eAdmministración, allowing the completion of negotiations with both national and regional administrations (eg the Inland Revenue), as well as the City Council.
