The City, through the Department of Craft, will explore the possibility of installing a permanent outlet representative samples of the traditional local handicrafts in La Santa.
This was the commitment made by Councilwoman Arestanía, Isabel Maria Sanchez, in the meeting held recently with representatives of associations of craftsmen and potters of the town.
The idea is that the artisans of Totana "show their work to visitors and establish a permanent exhibition and a direct sales system, and to boost sales and promote this sector," explained Councilwoman Crafts Maria Isabel Sanchez Ruiz.
This meeting is part of the meetings that the mayor is keeping this sector to promote the establishment of a craft market in the hamlet of La Santa, which will be held from September for one Sunday a month in order to encourage sightseeing of this emblematic place, and analyze and discuss issues affecting this sector.
During the meeting, artisans and potters moved to the mayor concerned about the current situation of waste collection, the procedure for the award, said Sanchez, has already begun to implement the collection of these wastes potteries generated for next year.
Also, the council were presented with the label and the slogan which will be part totanera representative of craftsmanship, which will be available at the local potteries.
Among other issues, are considering the possibility of a mural representing the pottery and crafts Totana in the entrance of the City.
Finally, they requested the installation of a permanent outlet representative samples of the traditional local crafts at La Santa, so they made a commitment to study the possible location.
