The "Municipal School of Parents, organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Education, and targeting all the families concerned and sensitized to the difficult and arduous task of educating children, recently gave a talk on the importance of parent participation in school and in the Socio-Cultural Center "The Jail", which was attended by about twenty families.
The talk, which was given by Esther Lorente, a psychologist at the Cooperative Key-The Social Promotion, was highly valued by parents for their practical and dynamic, as they discussed the importance of active participation of all parents, whether related or not the AMPAS in the educational process of children.
According to information technology education, some of the issues revolved around the difficulty in mobilizing the parents to participate in any matters concerning the education of their children, arriving at conclusions as the existence of different ways of involving parents in the education of our children through the help with homework, attend meetings, participate through the association of parents to mediate between teachers and parents and solve problems jointly and constructively, providing suggestions ...
among others.
For its part, the parents said their decisions are of little influence when it comes to putting in place measures at schools because they have minimal representation on the school board of the school.
They also mentioned the need to properly utilize the channels of information, because often the information does not reach all parents of the center, besides the existence of a delegate, a father or mother, by class, which is responsible for seeing needs and relay the information to other families.
In short, it was concluded that parental involvement in education of children is of vital importance and need AMPAS "form" for participation, active teaching techniques, as educational participation and genuine effort is needed by the entire educational community.
