Totana City Council has received a grant of 7,500 euros from the Directorate General for Cultural Promotion, an agency of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, to celebrate the XXIX Habaneras Contest 2009 of the municipality.
The latest edition of Totana Habaneras Contest , held during the month of July this year at the Municipal Auditorium "Marcos Ortiz" of the town, welcomed the participation of a total of three choirs and vocal groups from different parts of Spain and as local Polyphonic Choir Vox Musicalis "and Santiago de Totana, who acted out of competition as guest groups.
The coral "Hims Mola" Molina de Segura won second prize in the National Contest of Habanera XXVIII of Totana, who was endowed with 1,900 euros and a trophy, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Community, to become the first prize desert.
Furthermore, this band from Murcia, won the polyphony, worth 600 euros by the city of Totana.
