Totana Socialist Youth organizes next Thursday October 23 at the Casa del Pueblo, site of the PSOE, a talk which will discuss all aspects of the Bologna Treaty affects the university reform and its impact on the Spanish education system .
What is the Treaty of Bologna?
In 1999, twenty-nine ministers of education in their respective countries, all members of the European Union (EU), signed in Bologna (Italy), a statement bearing the same name as the host city; The Bologna Declaration, and It agreed to joint action lines in order to develop a common educational system.
This statement was the first step to result in what is now known as convergence.
This process was aimed at effective exchange of graduates between the EU, in addition to adapting the content of university to work demands and increase the international competitiveness of European education system.
The result was the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which it joined countries even outside the EU.
