With the performance of this new group, according to forward the mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, there will be an adequate response to the emergency situation occurs and provide the necessary support to victims of domestic violence in the municipality.
In addition to this measure will be implemented after the adoption of the Municipal Corporation, the Department of Equal Opportunity has already developed several actions framed within the "Second Plan Totana Equal Opportunities 2007-2010."
Following this project has created a commission of domestic violence in the City of Totana composed of municipal experts, Local Police, Guardia Civil, Red Cross, public health center, members of Red Cross and the court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3 Totana, developing a protocol for action potential domestic violence situations.
Also, soon to be put into operation in the area Specialized Care Center for Women victims of violence, CAVI, thanks to the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia.
The CAVI is a center whose purpose is to provide comprehensive and continuous approaches this problem from different professionals: psychological, social and legal.
The aim is to make these women may face life independently, giving them social skills and psychological stability needed to overcome the consequences of abuse.
This procedure is performed in the medium and long term both individually and in groups.
