The town of Totana has joined today the day of the "European Day without Cars" closing downtown streets to traffic from the town of 9:00 to 18:00.
To inform citizens about the time it installed a Mobile Information Point (MIP) in the Plaza of the Constitution which have been distributed brochures.
The area considered Pedestrian Priority Zone ranges from Lorca Avenue at the height of the Canada Zamora through the Plaza of the Constitution until Pilar Street.
It has also restricted the street traffic from the Knights General Aznar to the Plaza de la Constitution.
Throughout this area have set up checkpoints and information for people who have passed through this area.
The Department of Environment through adherence to this initiative aims to encourage citizen behavior consistent with sustainable urban development and to give citizens an opportunity to use alternative means of transport to the car.
Likewise, it aims to offer citizens the chance to rediscover the city, its people and its cultural heritage in a relaxed atmosphere.
So much information has moved the Environment Councillor, Trina Cayuela, to find acceptance in situ that has had this year in the city, expressing his satisfaction at the success and the normal development of it and encouraged people to use public transport.
