The course of "Translation and cultural mediation: the translator-interpreter in the public and private sector", offered by the Universidad Internacional del Mar, has been closed by the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, Councilman Totana Education, Roque Legaz Molina, the director of the Universidad del Mar, Eduardo Osuna, and the course director, Ana Maria Rojo Lopez.
This is the first municipality in the course is taught at the University of the Sea and has been widely accepted by professionals and students of the University of Murcia and Cartagena, and a total of 38 people yesterday received their diploma.
The conferences that have taken 30 hours, which will be validated for 3 elective credits.
During the four days that has lasted the course, held at the cultural center "Jail", have given lectures on the figure of the interpreter as intercultural mediator in business and real estate, cultural differences in health services, the role of interpreter as intercultural mediator in the courts and police stations, and the role of interpreter cultural mediator.
Sea International University this year and because of its twenty-fifth anniversary has increased the number of courses and venues, and will be present in 20 municipalities in the region through 67 training courses of various kinds.
