The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, has announced that the Consistory will go for the construction of subsidized housing (VPO) to improve the situation of construction companies of the town and help those who need a home.
First we will proceed with the signing of several agreements with companies from builders who want to benefit the municipality in exchange for free rental housing to subsidized housing.
This can be done through in May this year the Council of Regional Government passed a decree to regulate the activities protected housing.
This decree allows converting a free housing VPO for which two tracks: first, qualifying individual free housing whose promotion is initiated before the entry into force of this decree, or that are under construction, or completed bearing one year.
Moreover, full rate housing developments are initiated as free.
Martínez Andreo said that this conversion of private housing in protected significantly increase the number of housing and housing meet the demand of people, which by its nature, can not access it.
Similarly, the mayor said that "it will launch two projects that, in total, they will build 400 homes especially aimed at young people and is located in the districts of the municipality."
On the other hand, the Consistory has already held a meeting with the Association of Employers of the Construction of Low Guadalentín, AEMC, in order to establish measures that help to subtract the effects of the crisis.

For this, use the AEMC has headquarters in the town in the Plaza of the Constitution.
Martínez Andreo has shown particular interest in this initiative, because "so residents of the municipality can see first hand the facilities and advantages with the VPO.
