The Sports Council congratulates the six members of the Club de Totana Senderista that, along with athletes from other nearby towns, amounted to Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Of the total of climbers, Antonio Hernández López, Ramón Pérez and Enrique Lopez Merlos Fernández, managed to reach the summit located at 5,895 meters and three others, José Antonio García Rodríguez, Julián Segura Larroyo and Antonio Hernández (employee of the Department of Sports) was were a few meters, particularly in the Gilman's Point at 5,681 meters altitude.
